The Thelon River runs from a point near Artillery Lake at the Eastern end of the Great Slave Lake in the Northwest Territories to a series of lakes in Nunavut which empty into Hudson Bay. This picture was taken on a tributary of the Thelon (the Elk River) on Damant Lake between Granite Falls and Wardens Grove (at N 61˚55’161” W 105˚03’98”).
