Description

Bulgogi (불고기) is a popular Korean dish. The word means “fire-meat”.

Ingredients

1Poundtop sirloin (thinly sliced)
5Tablespoon (Metric)brown sugar
1⁄2Cuplight soy sauce
2Clovegarlic (finely chopped or crushed)
1⁄4Teaspoon (Metric)salt
2Tablespoon (Metric)sesame oil
1Cupgreen onions (split)
2Cupcarrots (julienned)
1Pinchblack pepper
2Tablespoonsesame seeds (toasted; optional)
5Tablespoon (Metric)mirin (or Sake; optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients except carrots. Marinate in refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  2. Grill or pan-cook over medium high heat until meat is just short of desired completion.
  3. Add carrots and cook for an additional 3 minutes.

Notes

Serve with rice.
